Standalone or Tuned PCM? Hey everyone doing a 383 stroker kit on my LS1. Wondering if you guys recommend a standalone or rather a tuned pcm?
money isn't really too much of a concern because I want to do it once and I want to do it right.

Hey again! Lol tuned pcm all the way... I just got my engine harness cut down last night and in the end going to be running my GM pcm as a stand alone if you want I can send you the links and pics of the progress.

The LS1 pcm is more than capable of handling the 383 stroker you plan on doing, so there's no reason to do anymore unless you really have money burning a hole in your pocket.
If money is of absolute no concern, then sure get a FAST XFI or something that is undoubtedly better than the GM PCM. But like I said, there's really no reason to for your setup, just more of a bragging thing at this point.

To add....the reason I'm turning my pcm into a standalone is because I'm doing MAJOR modding, and getting rid of everything I don't need which includes the BCM, and all the other linked/ integrated computers/boxes and in the 04 GTO they are all tied together.....but, by doing this I also had to spend a lot of extra money on gauges since most of the factory gauges run through the BCM.....All in my quest to get a 4,100 pound car down to around 2,500 pounds lol....you've got to pay to play!
