I'm going to build a spare motor soon. Going to use a LS3 429 shortblock, I have nothing else for the motor.

Fast 102 with matching TB now to the heads and cam
PRC 237
PRC L92
PRC LS7 heads

Cam recomendations, lots of street duty dont want to spin the piss out of it but doesnt have to run like stock. I like big cams, rough idle. Not a dyno queen I want a runner.

Not looking for a pissing match about heads just what is going to make most power. I have to buy everything so there isnt to much difference in price. Other brands are ok but 4k for all pro is too much. In the price range of above.
Thanks
Jay

TSP's LS7 heads made awesome power on mine... just under 600 through a 4L80 on an ls3 429 with a medium large cam. Might as well go LS7 imo, the cost difference is negligible over cath or ls3 stuff.

Can I use LS7 heads on my 408 iron block? The top end on that is crap, patriot heads and LS6 intake so there is a lot more there.
Thanks
Jay

No you can't use the PRC LS7's on a 408. They are for a 4.060 bore and larger.

If I didn't have my motor all bolted together I would have sold you a package deal. A set of freshly never used ported LS3's from PRC and FAST 102 to go with it. Full valvetrain and all.

That way I could go with the PRC LS7's

Now on the 408 since I cant use the LS7
What would be the head of choice?

The PRC small bore LS3 heads. Thick deck and a good velocity, well flowing head.
