Chevrolet Camaro 1967-2002 - Making mounts for third gen

Well got the car about gutted out about ready to make my motor mounts any ideas please help

You need to know what set-back you need...I think 1" is the normal ?

All I was going to do is use the stock MM as a hole template....then measure 1" forward for the "old school" MM... and some have suggested to measure down for the thickness of the plate....
