I would like to get new rims for my SS and I love chrome, anyone have any issues with OE WHEELS chrome

I bought the C6 vette chrome wheels three years ago for my 99 TA. I don't drive it in the winter but it sat in the parking lot of my old appartment. It snowed and the landlord salted the parking lot and then plowed the snow around my car. I didn't think anything about it until the spring when I drove it again and noticed the chrome plating on all four wheels were starting to pit. To be fair to OE Wheels, the rims would probably still look great if they didn't get salt on them.

With the right care and consistent cleanings, you shouldn't have any issues. Just use light soap, nothing harsh.

I use a chrome wheel cleaner on my stock snowflakes and they still look pretty good. There is some pitting here and there but the wheels are 10 years old after all.

This is exactly correct. they need to be kept clean, free of brake dust and road salts. Only use mild soap and water, you do not need to use any chrome cleaners or anything else.

my buddys looking for 2 c6 wheels he wrecked his ws6 and totaled but got a new one and had 2 good rims and needs 2 more...how much on oewheels are c6 rims?

mine are pitting some, was hard to clean the brake dust from my hawk pads while i lived in an apartment.

i would say rinse them off every two weeks or so to be safe.

get ceramic pads also they dont produce break dust or very lil if they do...i use them on mine..cost a lil bit more but last twice as long so well worth it

i have them and let me tell u i left them unwashed for the full '10-'11 winter and even though i barely drove the car, they had all this oxidation on them. took me 8 hours with a combination of windex, never dull, and then two coats of poor boys world sealant with a coat of wax on top of that to get them back to almost perfect. there are still some marks that i couldnt get out where it looks like the chrome plating was damaged. just make sure you wash them every couple weeks and put a synthetic sealant on them maybe twice a year. wax alone wont cut it because it just doesnt last
