Setup will be with a single 88.
I would like 9:1 or lower CR. Will be buying rods and pistons, so I can adjust the CR a little with those. Heads will be mildly ported when I get the ones I choose. I'm aiming for 8.99 or better in a 3550 lb car that already sixty foots in the 1.3's. Needing about 900 at the crank I would imagine.

Well the 243 799 and 317 (they all have the same runner design) flow the best from factory as far as heads that will work on your 5.3's bore. 243 and 799 are 64cc and and 317 heads are 72 cc. pick what ever works best for your piston combo

Curious....Why so low compression?

If you are going to port them and you have the 5.3 heads you could run them. They will flow 300+ cfm with the right guy porting.
