Conversions & Hybrids - Ground Junction Connector?

On a stock LS1 Corvette wiring harness, there is a large connector with 7 black wires going to it with a white plug. In the white connector there is a metal pin that connects all of the terminals together. Is this a main ground connector for the sensors instead of wiring them together or branching off to individual engine ground wires? What did you do to this when you guys modified your own harness?

Its a main ground point. Make sure that you ground it to a point that has a clean path to the battery ground and PCM ground.
