Default Direction of Water pump flow

What direction does the water pump flow? in from the top, out fromt he bottom, or vice-versa? I don't have underhood labels because my engine is on a stand.

It goes in through the bottom (thermostat) and out the top to the radiator

Yup thermostat is the inlet/suction side.
