Waterpump Electric Fan Space

Waterpump Electric Fan Space
Hi All;
I'm putting a LQ4 in a Jeep YJ
The waterpump on the LQ4 is too wide the nipple where the fan clutch was, is too long I have almost no space between the waterpump and my fan. Can I just cut this off? Has anyone done this?
Or is my only option a LS2 waterpump pn# 89018052 with spacers?
The L99 waterpump seems to align perfectly, I'd have to hack the LQ4 alternator bracket a little which is not a problem but the belt would also be a problem.
Maybe another solution out there?
Thanks!
