What lift #'s with a 228/228 on a 112?
I'm looking to get a custom ground comp cam (cheaper this way) and I want a 228/228 on a 112 lsa, but i'm not sure what the lift #'s should be for a cam like that. Does anyone make one that I could find out what the lift is, or can anyone suggest what the lift should be? Thanks guys!!

i just got this comp cam in the mail,, agostino owed it to me ( its a long story )It is a comp cam 228/228 112 ..lobe lift .3460 / .3460 gross valve lift .588/.588 part # 54-000-11 grind # ls1 3724r / 3724r hr 112+4 i want to sell it. it is brand new, has warranty card, stickers , box it came in & still smells like lube . i am going to go with mti"S stroker grind so im not going to use it. i think it would need comp cams 918 springs to work.

i have no idea if it is a comp cam x-er,,, i would sell it for a little less than what they are going for , which seems to be around 400 ,, if you know the exact specs for the x-er i could tell you.. this is the cam agostino suggested for me,, but i think im going a little bigger . If you want more info let me know. If i knew how to work my scanner id just send a pic of the card.

We have the Comp XE-R 228/228 in stock on a 112 LSA, so feel free to give me a call if you'd like to get one on order. FYI, they're $399.99.
Thanks!

Re: What lift #'s with a 228/228 on a 112?
Trevor, would that be a good cam for a stock head application? I want to get the meanest possible cam for stock heads... but it has to idle (112 should be good, I may even go 111) happily in a 6-speed in traffic and I don't want to spin the motor higher than 6500-6600. What would you recommend if not that cam? Oh yeah... I also want a cam that will let the springs (whatever ones I go with... probably 918's) live for 15k without issues.

Yes, it looks like the one that is posted for sale is an XE-R. It will make some incredible power; just be sure that you check p.-to-v. clearance if you ever go with a different set of heads. The clearance could get a little too close for comfort with stock pistons if you go with a set of big-valved heads that have been shaved quite a bit. You'll be just fine with stock heads, though.
Feel free to e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com if you have any other questions.

And I will most likely be going with Absolute Speed Stage 2 heads down the line (best deal i've found so far) unless I find a good set cheap in the for sale sections at the time I have the money, so i'll be sure to check the p to v, thanks again!

Re: What lift #'s with a 228/228 on a 112?
a #3724 228XER will have a lift of .588 while a #3717 228XE will have a lift of .571.
just depends on wether or not you want the use of the XER's faster ramp rates. best of luck.
