Default Quick question about washing engine compartment

I just completed the !wire mod and want to wash my engine compartment. This will be the first time I have ever done it so need to know if there is anything I should not hose down. I picked up some Simple Green for the job. I know not to spray into the lid, but is there anything else? Does it matter if the PCM gets wet or is it pretty sealed up? Thanks in advance.

Just dont spray for too long in any one place. Make sure the engine is cool, and when you are done, let the car run for a 1/2 hour to burn off excess water. The pcm should be ok.

Simple Green.. some water and maybe a soft bristle brush.. dont spray hard on the coil packs, PCM, air lid or any seams on the intake track. you can spray hard on the block and lower frame, etc.

Then blow dry if you have compressed air or towle dry if you dont..

its more of a common sense thing..

try not to get water into the lower part of the intake you could have problems with the knock sensors later on

Thanks for this info guys. It turned out great . If water did get to the knock sensor, would the heat from the block take care of it pretty quick or would the water just sit there?
