My question is which is more likely to fail in the optispark, the optical sensor, or the cap and rotor assembly? My car isn't throwing any codes but its missing a lot under load, and I checked all of the wires and they are all okay. I searched for optispark symptoms and it sounds like the problems I'm having, but I wanted to know which part is more likely to fail.

Cap and rotor. Usually the rotor.

IMO the cap and rotor are neglected for far longer than they would be with any other distributor and THAT is the cause of most "opti problems". They are wear items.
With a 93 I would consider the MSD cap and rotor as it will add a venting system for you.

Far as search, hard to get good info there as people blame pretty much every potential problem on the car on the opti and a LOT of optis get swapped out as "dead out of the box" because people are blindly blaming the opti instead of finding the actual cause.

Yeah I am looking at the MSD cap and rotor.

I think the optispark rotor is bad at this point because I have a loss of high rpm power, constant missing under load and a rough idle. I tested the fuel pressure and it is fine, and like I said, its throwing no codes, which would lead me to believe that the cap and rotor are worn out. The car also just turned over 180 thousand miles.

Did u pull the plugs? Also look under the hood at night to see if u have grounding issues with the wires. U will be able to see the spark better at night.
