Do these injector numbers sound right?
I have been doing alot of research on the injector requirements of an LQ9/4 I am putting in my 02 TA. I have been using this website: http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx to try to calculate what injectors I need to purchase for my build.
My build consists of the following:
370 LQ9 Iron Block Bored .030 over
Stock Crank
Eagle H beam 6.125 rods
Mahle -8cc Pistons
MS3 237/242 .603/.609
243 Heads Ported to Stage 2
LS6 Intake
and of course the full complement of bolt ons.
I also used the following data to calculate my injector size:
Desired Crank Horsepower: Between 550 - 600
Number of Injectors: 8
BFSC: .50
Injector Duty Cycle: .80
PSI @ Fuel Rail: 58 PSI
based on the calculations i get anywhere from 37 - 40 LB injectors. From what I have read I should go with the 42LB injector.
My question is I want room to grow but at the moment i do not want to over inject the engine.
I have been looking at two sets of injectors the fast 36 LB and the racetronix 42 LB.
In yalls experience if i go with the larger injector will i be over injecting the engine.
any input in appreciated.

The racetronix 42# injectors that are rated at 43.5psi (3 BAR ) are actually 48# injectors at 58psi (4 BAR) our fuel pressure... so that will give some room. I'm not certain if they have injector data on them or not...you would have to ask.
You could also speak to FIC Injectors and see what they have to offer in the 40~50# range. Bosch makes a hell of an injector, and FIC provides data for them. The newer bosch ball & seat injectors are quite a nice set, i have heard of no problems whatsoever using 60#+ injectors on nearly stock cars
