Default Regular opti shoppers

whats the deal with this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-IGNITION...7d0731&vxp=mtr

Says consistent spark to 8K rpm! Is this the same AIP sensor currently used in the Dynaspark and the same company that changed their name after all the bad optis came out awhile back? I don't understand the price? Sorry I was searching for delco units and came across this! I haven't used ebay in years so I don't know whats what anymore! The price is a little to risky for me, just wondering

I've had real good luck on yellowbullet purchasing parts. Go into the Electrical section right here:
http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=29

Make a thread saying : "Any MSD dealers in here? Need a price on an opti"

Say in the thread you can get one from ebay for $479 but you'd rather buy from a yb member. Not looking for a rock bottom price but something reasonable will do.

Give it 30 minutes and you'll have 3 or 4 pm's from shop owners. I've been buying my FAST XFI stuff and this guy has been saving me hundreds compared to Summit.

I used to work at a local chevy dealer, I plan of pucking up a GM opti this week while I send my Dynaspark in to be looked at. I just hate the dealer is selling remans from Mexico now.

Another Dynaspark gone bad????? I keep wanting one so bad but seems everyone that buys one has issues these days. Thats why I run a Delco and have a back up delco. Also want a MSD but never fork over the cash since my delcos work fine.

Same here - but having said that, I've replaced my Opti seven times; GM units (two dealers - Ohio & NC), GM High Performance Units (me - Summit), Parts stores (me - Autozone and Murray's Discount Auto), online units (me - AIP, and CMS).

Bad luck?
Bad weather?
Driving thru too much rain?
Bad installation methods?

Who knows.

The latest, from CMS, has been good, but I sealed the gasket with a tiny bead of silicone prior to installation.

Regardless of which one you acquire, if you replace it youself (and keep a spare on hand!), it'll make you a better mechanic.

I don't know mine was ever fixed right, I still have a miss above 5K rpm. I've replaced everything (including entire top end) and even sent in the Dynaspark twice over the past 2 seasons. Got it back saying all was good so I kept trhowing parts at it. It's been hard to chase since ot only happens at upper rpm and under a load, OBD2 pcm so no way to log sensors. Dynaspark great with service but it sucks having to keep sending it back. It's racing season now and I don't have time for the car to be down over a week. I'm gonna put on a stock unit and keep the Dynaspark on the shelf when it returns in case the stock one ever quits.
