Gears & Axles - funny new u joint

I put new u joints in my driveshaft. Front side ujoint is fine. But in the rear side ujoint I have slop when I move it up and down, left/right movement is fine. I mean a ujoint has four sides, two for moving left/right and two for moving up/down. The up/down has slop. The slop is like when I move it, it pauses then moves because of the slop or free play. Only that has play in it. I also greased it but did not make a difference. I put the shaft in my car and it is running fine, no problems. Will the slight free play or slop go away by itself?

Is the slop in the part that goes in the rear yoke? Are you sure the caps are seated?

I saw the slop and its in ujoint not the yoke. The yoke is moving with the cap, but the slop is in the joint. Is it a missing roller pin.

Caps must be fully seated....

Thanks, I had already put the drivshaft in the car and have been driving for a week. Will the cap seat it self, or should I remove it and hammer it.

No, it will stay loose until you do something about it...
you need the correct u-joints (series 3R), and do not let any rollers/pins fall out during install.
