Need advice on engine setup
i'm just looking for some advice from some experienced guys on an engine setup. i just came up with this plan/list for my 99Z conv. and just wondering if someone could give me some advice/tips suggestions, etc. here goes:
-slp cai "flowpac" (already installed) -slp LM cat-back (already installed)
-headers + catted y-pipe (looking at QTP?) -intake manifold (lsx 78 or 90mm?)
-tb (open to ideas?) -maf sensor (open to ideas?)
-heads + cams (open to ideas?) -stall converter (yank 3500-3800?)
-3.73 gears (open to ideas?) -spare set of rims/slicks for track (ideas? sizes?)
that's pretty much it for now. any thoughts on companies or parts (i.e. torque arm, panhard bar, etc. that i'd want to change out as well) would be greatly appreciated. also i was wondering if anyone would recommend the 90mm intake mani. or would the 78 be ok for what i need and the 90 be overkill? anything would be appreciated. thanks.

If you need to pass emissions, sniffer and visual, there are no long
tube headers that are CARB approved, so you can't go with those.
I know JBA shorty headers are CARB approved.
If you have the money, go with the FAST lsx intake, if not, the ls6
will do just fine. (i've seen them on sale for around 360, but this is
for the non EGR model. If you are going to keep EGR, must go with
the SLP ls6 intake, around 460.)
Heads/cam, if you're on a budget, get the TSP Patrior Performance
package. If money is not an issue, look at just about any other
shop. Absolute Speed, TEA, MTI have good heads. For a cam,
to pass emissions you will need to keep it at 224/224 or smaller.
With dead on ***** tuning, you may get away with slightly bigger.
Since you're A4, you best buy is to get a converter and some
sticky tires. I'd suggest between 3000-4000 stall, depending on
how wild you wanna get. Any higher and you'll get great launches,
but some would argue as to the streetability. All depends on how
mild/wild you wanna go.
Spend a couple weeks reading everything in the internal and external
engine sections, and also the auto trans section for converter tips.
I've been spending lots of time there lately, and it's AMAZING how much
I've learned.

you have a sniffer to pass there or just obd2?
that will help in giving you a solid setup...
most of what pen said... i would say on the tb .. just port the one you got and pocket the coin
90mm would be over kill on a h/c car imo...
