LT1
stock cooling system
160 stat and lowered fan settings
still runs ~195-200 degrees light load cruising, in city traffic or after a hard pull ir rises ~20 degrees and takes forever to cool down
both fans are working
could mismatched fan on/off settings restrict that much?
could a clogged up, stop leak fllled radiator cause this?
anyone else have enough and buy a BECOOL radiator / big fans?
did that help lower temp?

The water pump could be on the way out. Another option would be to try water wetter or another kind of additive to reduce the temp.

Your AC condenser is probably blocking a lot of flow to the radiator, they tend to get gummed up. Check your radiator to be safe. Also check your airdam and see if it is still intact. I never went above 200 with that setup.

I'm leaning toward the radiator. I bought the car, the engine blew, when the rad came out - tons of stop leak goo and crust came out of it.
Sat all winter and we put it back in - last year it wasn't running hot.

Air dam is mint. A/C condensor is also same as last year, which did not run as hot.

I also put on very old casting AFR heads. Everything that could not line up right did't with them. Like pushrod guideplates, exhaust gaskets. I wonder if the cooling capacity in the heads is not that great compared to stock heads?
