Generation IV Internal Engine - How many of you boost an ls2?

Sup guys I'm doing an ls swap into my 79 vette and considering all NY options as far as ls motors go. Used to have an ls1 and still have two ls1 blocks but my understanding is aluminium ls1 block doesn't handle boost well. I like the lq9 however not liking the weight. So here comes the ls2 option. Plan is 650+rwhp with a Whipple or TVS twin screw blower with room to grow to 850rwhp when I'm ready. And of course any block chosen will have forged internals with a strong tranny and suspension to match. Question here is will an ls2 with stock cubes be a reliable choice for a twin screw blower? And if I wanted to stroke and bore the block bigger what's the most I can get away with before it starts to become unreilable. I've seen a ls2 402 but unknown on reliability. And third what's the most boost I can safely run on stock cube ls2 and a bored ls2. Either setup is getting supporting mods such as blower cam and well flowing heads such as the 317's

I looked around on the forums maybe a week or two ago. And someone said the alum. Ls1 blocks handle boost. Just depends on your tune...

Yea like I've said in other threads I've seen some people pull it off but trust me largely it is not recommended. Yea it may hold 500 HP. But I'm looking for a top of 850rwhp which means more than 850 at the crank and I don't know many that would push that power in an aluminium ls1 block when they could have any choice of block.

there are alot of people running ls2's with boost. some over 1000+rwhp....obviously you will have to have forged internals etc....but the block is good. its all in the tune after that. I went iron. my ls1 let go on the dyno at 600rwhp. my fault though, but the thing tore like a piece of wet toilet paper. weak sauce. :barf:

yea my original plan was to take one of the blocks ive got and boost it but everything ive seen is for my power goals the ls1 will not hold and im not taking any chances. i like iron but im not trying to make 1000rwhp here, and i think 650 to 800 rwhp is obtainable with a ls2 and saving weight in the process.
