General LSX Automobile Discussion - How much can 2000 SS motor trans tow??

Im going to install a 2000 SS motor with matching trans into a 72 C10... I have a 66 Chevelle with a 2000 corvette motor... I want to tow my chevelle around in my C10. Is this a good idea?? If it is, what is the most I can tow with my setup in my c10? Any thoughts or ideas on how to make sure this works? Gratzi!

It probably could, but it would be just as easy to find a 4l80E and use that. Those are found in trucks and a meant for towing.

With the right gears, you shouldn't have a problem. That same transmission was put behind trucks for years ment for towing.

You will want to have it tuned for tow use, but it will be fine. Just make sure to install a good trans cooler.

youll be fine. like mentioned already, the 4l60e was used in silverados/sierras for years. just make sure you have a good tranny cooler hooked up and youll be good.
