Lq4 Teardown and swap into 99 T/A
got a A4 Trans Am with 148k miles, tuned by an idiot, with lid, slp maf (i will be going speed density soon) ls6 intake, 36#'s and pacesetter longtubes Lca's and panhard bar, car is supposed to be around 330rwhp as it sits.
picked up an 89k mile lq4 that i will be dropping in the car soon. Im pulling the heads off the lq4 tomorrow
now for the questions..
i'm planning to be over 400RWHP and a decent amount of torque.
does anyone have any proven setups of cam/milled 317's?
I'm PLANNING on ordering an ss3600 or a circle D counterpart since they are local to me. if anyone has some track numbers and proven setups let me know.

You can make good power with the lq4 still n/a.just have to pay more attention to the combo of parts. My cam only lq4 with ls6 intake is making 352rwhp and 360tq on stock exhaust. There are many guys running lq4s without doing much making over 400rwhp.
The 317's are good heads just large cc,mill them down to bump compression and port/polish with a decent cam in the 230 range with the rest of your mods would make good hp and very strong tq under the curve.A set of 243 heads for higher compression would further improve results.
You can make over 400hp with an ls1 easy too but it wont be as torquey as a built lq4/9 down low.Or through a stroker kit in it more cubes..more torque.

Id say take your 317's and sell them, get a set of 243/799 heads and mill them to 62cc which is a .020 mill and throw them on, get a decent size cam like a 230/236 112+2, use the ls6 intake for now but a fast would be worth 20 tire hp and got with circle d on the converter
