Two almost identical built 2001 m6 camaro's,
that pull just about the same 1/4 mile times in et and mph.

1 with 4.10 gears and a 26" tire......
1 with 4.56 gears and a 28" tire......

Which car will run out of gear first in 4th gear & why ?
asuming rev limiters & everything else are the same......

thanx!

From a spreadsheet I did a while back; excluding tire expansion, includes a 1:1 4th gear and same acceleration rates for vehicles regarding MPH comparisons.

If MPH is the limiter, results below:
4.10 and 26s at 7000rpm = 132.0 mph.
4.56 and 28s at 7000rpm = 127.9 mph

Well, since both tires will grow, only the 26 a little less, I would say they are pretty near the same: Lets say 1" growth on 26 and 1.5 on a 28.

Thats ~131.3mph for the 28s and 134.6mph for the 26 @ 7000rpm.

I say put the 4.56 and 28s on there. Better patch area on launch and close to same MPH capabilites.
