I want to try running w/o the PCV setup. From my readings I believe this is what I want to do, but I'd like to confirm first (ls3 480 crate engine in the pictures)

If I understand this right, I want to
-plug #3
-plug #5
-connect #4 (pass. valve cover) to #2 (driver valver cover) (?or do I want to plug these and not connect the 2 valve covers together?)
-stick on k&n breather in place of oil cap

Would that be correct? Anything else to plug and/or connect togther?

It took me a sec to realize your intake manifold was on 'backwards'... lol

I thought that you connect the valley plate (#5) to the valve cover (#4). Then you need to put a breather where your oil cap is and another breather where #2 is.

Then you need to plug the intake manifold nipple (which I believe is #3)

I thought 5 goes to 3 normally (so both 5 and 3 would be capped) and 4 went between the throttle body and the maf sensor?

I can't remember my stock setup... but 5 would have probably gone to 3 in order for the intake manifold to pull a vaccum out of the crankcase. If you cap 5, I'm not sure that's healthy for the motor. If you run 5 up to 4 on the valve cover, you're letting that vent out the oil cap filter.

4 would have gone to the intake to draw in air, but it can do that with the filtered oil cap now.

So if I undertsand this correctly then:

Connect 5 to 4
Replace oil cap with k&n breather
cap 3
cap 2 (driver side valve cover)?

Would that be correct? Or would I want to T and connect 2, 5, and 4?

My ls3 in my ls1 f body i just put one on my passenger side valve cover. No need for two

I also made my aluminum valve cover no pcv provisions. just oil filler neck

So you didn't T the driver and passenger side together? I just want to make certain I do this right to see if it's better than using the pcv system. (no point doing it if you do it wrong, haha)

Seems to me like you would want to run #5(valley cover port) to a vented catch can instead of running back thru motor. Maybe it will circulate itself out thru the oil cap, I am not sure. That crap needs to get out of your motor, via combustion or dispersing into the air. As for #2 (driver side valve cover), unless you are having excess crankcase pressure, I would think just capping it would work. If it starts blowing oil out breathers and dipstick, then add a breather there. Good luck with it and post results once motor is running.
