228/230 comp cam
Okay, heres tha deal guyz. I have a 98 Trans Am LS1 with 94,000 miles on it and I recently purchased this cam from a guy off this board. I am planning to do the cam install pretty soon along with my true duals and new pacesetters that are supposed to come in this week. I have installed most of the bolt on stuff but never have I installed a cam. I have the stuff from ls1howto.com but I was wondering if you guys could provide me with any tips or tricks to the install thatcha know of and problems that I will run into. Thanks a lot...
Also, I have the cam, 918 springs, timing chain, and working on the pushrods. Do I HAVE to get an LS6 oil pump? If I dont will it screw my car up? I am gonna have to ride around without a tune for a little while, will I need to drill the TB? Let me know if Im missing something.
The only current mods I have is: Lid, Filter, all free mods, cutout, ported maf. I dont have ls6 intake or pulley. I know its good to install them with the cam but I just cant afford it now and I dont have a credit card! Thanks again!
