Default How much temp does the EGR really drop?

I fully understand the purpose and function of the ol' EGR. But, I want to finally block this mother off and get it tuned out.

Will this really increase my engine temperature at all? Everywhere I looked it says the same ****. The EGR reduces temperature, but it never ever states by how much. I say this is just emissions BS. My AIR system is already long gone and this thing is just aching to get blocked off and tuned out.

It does not relate to engine temps directly.

It only reduces combustion temps by putting an inert gas (exhaust) into the incoming air. This reduces your NOx emissions. Your cooling system will regulate your engine temps.

Later years used the smaller truck cam which had a little more overlap, bleeding off combustion charge keeping the combustion temps down. This eliminated the need for an EGR system.

How interesting, I wondered on how they got away from removing it on some cars. Good info thanks a lot!
