So I'm sure quite frequently you guys get people in this section with the "what do I need to do to supercharge, turbo erc etc". Well my question is no different, I'm currently swapping a 93 lt1 m6 into my 95 3.4 a4. I have a donor car to swap everything over. Right now I have the lt1 out and stripped all the way down, had 171 k but ran strong when pulled. So I'm looking to supercharge it, 6-8 psi seems good for daily driving. I've read THR stock crank is good to about 550hp so I should be fine there. So all I have to do is get forged pistons and rods? How do I set up compression ratio correctly? Can I run cc503 cam or do I get a custom grind for supercharged applications? All help is appreciated

you are tackling a lot here, you need to get this conversion down first before you even think about supercharger. You've got a lot of reading to do around the different lt1 setups (there are 3, 93, 94-95,96-97) 93 was a single model year lt1 only, so there is that going for you (it has a different intake than all the others and it's a speed density setup (need to burn PROM chips) if you try to use the 93 PCM. going into a v6 car, you need the pcm from a lt1 car, you should convert to a 94-95 PCM and opti, etc...

man you bit off a lot here

Stupid question, why not run to the junk yard and grab a 5.3 for 3-700 bucks?

Yes grab a 4.8-5.3 for dirt cheap and run it to 500hp all day and blow it up after a year and then buy another one..

This company makes kits to run SBC/BBC/LT1's off an LS1 pcm.

LOL - been there and have a writeup I did -> https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...epin-pics.html

as for the recommendations for the junkyard stuff, you guys are missing a big cost besides the engine itself, that is the cheap part!

you still need:

-$400 - front fbody accesories
-$250 - Fbody oil pan/pickup/dipstick
-$200 - car intake/throttlebody/injectors
-$100 - ls1 kmember
-$50 - motor mounts
-$200 - wiring harness for ls1 fbody
-$400 - used 4l60e w/ stock converter
-$75 - pcm
so tack on a minimum of $1600-1700 for these things on top of the engine cost from the junkyard.
