What color should I repaint my car?
Well I posted a little story of what happen in the Racer's Lounge. My car got hit by hail and its ruined . I was wondering what color to repaint it or should I paint it the same. I was thinking of a Electron Blue or Sonic Blue. Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.

Thats too bad, SOM is such a nice/rare color for f-bodies...IMO an electron blue like GM uses on the Z06 would look really nice on an Fbody, especially with OEM Z06 wheels and red calipers...you would probably think it was a Z06 at a distance...i better stop now im givin myself some ideas

I was thinking something like that. But putting a SS Hood and painting the scoop onyx black, the roof and a stripe running down the back of the car onyx black. I think that would look sick.

If you change colors, you'll have a lot of extra work under the hood, in the door areas, & in the hatch area, ..., a LOT of extra work, ...
If you started with a black car, it wouldn't be such a big deal, cuz you could leave the underhood area black.
Think about it, is it really worth it to change colors?

DTYSON that sounds pretty badass never thought of that.
PontiacFan, very good point. Painting the outside of the car is no problem, the jams, bay etc are what make the cost go sky high.
I like the EB idea too... But I've always loved the charcoal gray or the viper steel gray metallic or whatever that is.
The EB sounds badass though. That gets my vote... MAYBE with SOM stripes???

prowler orange.
since you have a SOM car now, it will be close enough, that you won't need to do under the hood, ect. I woudl still get the t-tops hatch and door jambs done though.
Makes for a unique orange color
i like blue, but the only way i woudl paint my car blue (its red) is pulling the motor, and painting everything blue, or at least flat black, the orange/red under the hood will look weird

You could always go with the same color but enhance it somehow with a more saturated color, a bit more metallic or some pearl. That way the engine compartment wouldn't be too much of a contrast to it and you'd save a lot of money while making what you have better.

You should go with a Candy Orange. I've seen this color on a few other cars and it looks great. Almost like SOM, but has alot more depth to it and looks translucent. But I think the car has to be sprayed with yellow first for the base coat, then the candy is sprayed over that. Plus it needs multiple coats of candy, usually around 6 coats for a nice effect.
Here is a link to another car painted with Candy Orange.
