Question ls1 rebuild

after a long time i finally removed my trans am engine, its now in the machine shop, the problem for it burning oil was a broken piston, and it needs to be bored to be cleaned, its geting bored .20 over and all new internals, but i need to change the cam and i was wondering if i can use a ls3 cam on it and how would it differ from the stock ls1 cam.
any help will be appreciated.
