P0502 code last night at the track
i have a 4200 stall converter in my car, i noticed on a few passes that my car kind of acts weird when its stalled up for more than a couple seconds or above a certain rpm. it actually gave me a bit of a scare tonight at the track. I usually stall it up around 2500-3500rpm, but I decided to come up on the converter higher than usual (3800-3900rpm). Next thing you know, Im in 2nd gear and i had no 3rd or 4th gear. Scanned the car and it threw a P0502
i searched the error code P0502 and this is what i came up with-
Conditions For Running DTC P0502DTC will run under the following conditions:* DTCs P0101, P0102, P0103, P0107, P0108, P0122, P0123and P1810 are not present.* Transmission is not in Park or Neutral.* Throttle angle is greater than 12 percent (3.8L) orgreater than 15 percent (5.7L).* Engine vacuum is 0-31 In. Hg. (0-105 kPa).* Engine speed is greater than 3000 RPM.* Engine torque is 40-400 ft. lbs. (3.8L) or 30-400 ft.lbs. (5.7L).Conditions For Setting DTC P0502DTC will set under the following condition:* Transmission output speed is less than 150 RPM for2.5 seconds.
Action Taken By Control ModuleControl module performs the following actions if DTC is set:* Illuminates MIL.* Commands 2nd gear only.* Commands maximum line pressure.* Inhibits TCC engagement.
all of this stuff happened. I wanna know where or if theres a way to raise the time or rpm so i dont have this problem again. If i changed it to "no error reported" for the track, would this prevent it from happening again? bc the computer would think nothings wrong right? lol

Yeah going by memory, that is the code that sends the car into limp mode if you stall up over 2800ish for more than a few seconds with the car not moving. Just set it to no SES light and
(3) No error reported and you will be good to go.
Been there before

This was the mystery issue which would occur intermittently. I dealt with this for the last 2 years when stalling it up and it never threw a code til the other night lol. glad thats fixed (hopefully). I wanna stall this badboy up to 3800 (or higher) and let it rip!!! Im trying to see some low 1.4 60's before wintertime
