Default TH350 bites the dust :(

I was just bragging to a few friends how this TH350 has went 115 passes and 2000 hard street miles and sure enough on the way home I make a little blast, shift into 3rd at ~6000 and hit the rev limiter and now no forward/reverse - its dead..

Moral of the story, dont brag about how well something is holding up

Jinxed it to death. Yep, been there done that. Freshen it up with a better sprag and drum.

already has the upgraded sprag/drum and 2.75 1st. Its completely dead so its most likely the input shaft (TH350Cs have weaker inputs then regular TH350s) or front pump - I would be surprised if the sprag let go but you never know. I'll take it apart and see - I guess I can finally get the lockup to work now..

Turns out to be the forward clutch drum split and the input shaft spun, luckily all the metal chunks stayed contained so its an easy fix. First time I ever seen a TH350 do this but thats always my luck.. Thats why I went with a TH350 though, easy to take apart and fix

Thats interesting, a friend of mine has the same transmission and told me and my friends how good his transmission was and one day he said he just shifted to third and she went. The only difference is he said he wasn't gettin on it or anything and you were.

Heh, no wood on these cars to knock on after you say it wont break

Hopefully all the parts I ordered come in Monday, doing a couple minor updates while its apart. Other then the broken drum the thing is in excellent shape inside so hopefully it lasts for a while..
