WTB: '04 or Later LQ4 Rod/s or Equivelant
All,
Here's my predicament. Im rebuilding an 05 LQ4 on the cheap. Going back together w/ the motor while measureing the big end of the rods w/ a dial bore gauge I found one rod that was way off. After taking a closer look, its evident that the cap wont center itself on the rod correctly. The fracture face didnt get damaged, the rod didnt get put together incorrectly, etc. Not sure what happened. All the other rods measured the OK (w/ no variance) and went back together and torqued up fine.
SO, I am in need of a replacement rod. My understanding is that 04 is when the LQ4 changed to the better rods. I have also hear these are the same as the LS2 rods, but Ive been unable to confirm this for sure.
Would anybody have a 04 or later LQ4 rod in GREAT condition they would be willing to sell me? Id be willing to buy a complete set if needed and if priced to where I could afford it.
PM me your info and Ill give you a call.
THANKS
ANDY
