LT1 Transmission Tourque Converter hits 5.3L Flexplate before Bellhousing meets motor

This is WITHOUT the adapter too. The adapter will make it worse. Why am I hitting the flexplate before the bellhousing meets the motor?

Sounds like the converter is not fully seated.

Try turning around the converter while you slide it in place. Then it should eventually get in place into the oilpump. It is not unusual to turn it half aroud to be seated.

And don't push hard or the pump will turn with the converter without being engaged.

Could this also be because Im using an LS1 converter in an LT1 transmission? If I use the LT1 converter will it work provided I have the adapter?

Will everything else work right?

LS1 and LT1 F-body 4L60E input shafts are different so the torque converters are NOT interchangeable. Use the LT1 converter with an adapter.
