Default New hood

My new (well to me anyway) ram air hood:

The grills are out of the hood because I have to repaint them still.

Here is the intake:

I will be replacing the Fram filter for a K&N, and hoping to get the hood repainted and fixed before next spring. As of right now, the car is put away for the winter though

cool, that is my favorite mod to my 95

looks oem to me, IIRC the oem hood is the only one that has clips for the grills and will clear the rubber seal on the oem airbox (i have an oem hood too. my grills are from hawks though as $40 a pair beats $110 per side but you can't tell a difference between them and oem as they clip in the same way)

your engine bay looks like the white version of mine, i have the same black STB (well it was red but we painted it) and my intake manifold is black

I was told OEM hood, but I had my doubts because it didn't fit exactly right and had been repainted. It needs new paint and a little body work, but it will look new when that's done.

1995blacktattop: I'm liking the engine bay, do you know if that block off plate you bought for the fender well where the factory air intake goes is still available? I see you found one but that was a few years ago if I remember correctly

not sure. i ordered it from pontiac and it was supposed to be ~$45 but ended up being $20. im guessing GM discontinued it but u might try ordering it at a chevy dealer. SLP might still sell it. i got mine in the spring of 08 so im sure a lot has changed since then. i just looked at gmpartsdirect.com for the part number in the diagram for the ram air setup which is i think where i found it when i ordered mine at the dealer but the diagram doesnt even show that piece any more.

u may be in luck afterall. looks like SLP still sells it for $14.95. they have a min $25 order so you will probably have to order something else with it. http://www.slponline.com

i couldnt get a direct link but its under induction in the 93-02 fbody section.

Gloss black, I figured that would look the best.

My friend said to paint them red, but I think that would look a little ricey

Looks good.

The Ram Air Hoods really make the 93-97 TA's head turners.

BTW Semi Gloss Black would look best. jmho

If you had fitment issues, then it more than likely is an OEM hood.
There were a lot of hood fitment issues when the WS6 cars came out in '96 and on into '97. I purchased my car brand new in '97 and my hood was replaced by the dealer because of fitment issues.

I wonder who let them leave the factory without properly fitting. My old hood fit almost perfect, and i was expecting the same from this one. My bad haha
