Default Oil pickup question

Just installed my oil pan on my new 408. I had to use shims to shim my windage tray, didnt really think about it at the time but i also shimmed my oil pickup tube, The thickness of the shims was 175 thousands, roughly a 1/4 inch. Should this be sufficient clearance between the oil pan and pickup tube, I know its not hitting the oil pan without the gasket in place, really dont want to pull the pan back off unless i need to. The pan is a stock 02 t/a Fbody, ls1 pan and pickup tube, any help will be greatly appreciated.
