Exclamation New user, 2002 camaro, help with my airbags if you would!

Hey guys,

New to the forum but not new to forums..
Hope this is the right section..

Was wondering if I could get some help with this car that I recently picked up..
Its a 2002 Camaro Z28 with 60K on it 6 speed manual..
I used this site to help me change the spark plugs(Seriously, wtf is up with that last plug... I stared at the engine for a good 10 minutes thinking about how the hell I was going to reach it until I admitted defeat and hopped on the internet)

The airbags were deployed from a small hit to the front passenger side.
Very small damage I don't know why the airbags even deployed..

Anyways I got 2 new airbags and a new module and I installed them.
I went to clear the light and its giving a communication error. The seatbelt sensors are ok they know when they are plugged in or unplugged..

I have 2 theories on what's going on..

1. I have to replace an impact sensor on the front that I overlooked.. However looking at alldata and also the almighty google I think that everything is self contained in the module and there is no impact sensor?

2. The module came from a 2000 and my car is a 2002.. The seller said it would work tho.. Could this be the problem?

Thanks for the help guys!

Actually the module came from a 2001 but when it is read by the computer scanner it comes up as a 2000..
The module should still work then..

Did you replace the airbag coil in the steering column? There is a discriminating sensor on the core support behind the hood latch that needs to be replaced also. hope this helps.
