Default Cam issues

Installed new comp cam 54-414-11 with stock pushrods on my ls1 with 243 heads,i went with yellow ls6 springs since the cam is not a big cam,started vehicle and getting lots of popping and backfire,removed valvetrain and found 1 pushrod bent,have ls7 lifter brand new on also..rods came with my ls6 243 head used,not sure if waas damaged already and not told or what..any advice its a 98 ls1 transam

Are you sure you lined the sprokets up dot to dot perfectly and turned it over a few times to be sure it lined back up?

Yup double checked just to make sure,motor spins all around no issues or restrictions,also no tapping or rattle noises when vehicle is running all it did was backfire and popping...

Maybe when i installed the used push rods i didnt notice one was bent and i installed it like that....no other push rod is bent or anything...
