how much timing for 100 shot ??? by tomorow ???
i have a hp tuner and it has 28* till 3600 rpms then changes to 34*
how much should it be at for 100 shot?? i now have a 4200 converter and tv2 cam and bolt ons so what should the total timing be maybe 28* all the way through or what?

1: 34 is way too much timing for any LS engine at WOT....
you will find that you are probably way past MBT.... and likely to be seeing lots of knock and detonation which will greatly decrease the life of the engine
2: start around 24*~26* for NA,
add 1* per pass until your MPH stops getting any faster
3: for a 100 shot take out 4*from your best MPH on motor to start....
then do the same thing...
add 1* per pass until your MPH stops getting any faster
4: look at your Air fuel... if you are in the 11's...its WAY too rich and you need to lean it out...
you should be around 12.5:1 at the richest for a 100 shot...
you can do the same thing with fuel that you did with spark... start a hair rich, and lean it out until your MPH stops increasing.

I personally would not run nitrous on anything until I was sure the N/A tune was spot on. If the N/A tune is not spot on, then you have no idea what a good safe nitrous starting point is.
Before I ever ran nitrous on my car, I made a dedicated trip to the track just to ensure my tune was dead on by testing different A/F ratios and timing settings.

you should do a lot more reading, and perhaps take the car to a professional tuner who can do a comprehensive dyno and street tune on the car on motor. and then who can set up the tune for nitrous for you
the fact that multiple people have said that you should set the timing lower and work your way back up should tell you something...
you dont just "set the timing at xx degrees" and call it a day"
if you dont like our replies, then dont ask for our advice...
you have several guys in this thread that are spraying more nitrous than the majority of people on this forum will ever think about using.
listen to what we have to say.

This is what I've always went by. I pulled 4degrees and added 4% fuel. Listen for detonating, run a good premium fuel and like stated read your plugs. They will tell you the story. I would run a heat range colder plug than stock also

OP take this as constructive criticism, why are you only running 12's with a 4200 stall and a torquer cam? You should be running faster than that. I have a friend with a bolt on 6 spd running what you are and a he also has a 3800lb fbody running a smaller converter and and cam and running 11.6 on motor. We really need to go over your car to see what the issues are for not going faster on motor, then see about the spray. With your setup on a 175 shot it should be a mid to bottom 10 sec car.
Do you have a vid of the car at the track or anything? Are you spinning? How are you launching?

I'm curious as to if he is even looking at the right part of the timing table when he says it has 34* in it.
If you havn't turned on hptuners or used nitrous in a car step out of the thread.
