Default Forged Mahle flat tops with boost.

Im still trying to figure out which direction I want to go, stay NA with spray, d1sc or turbo. Ive seen the a few threads with dished Mahle pistons breaking ring lands under boost but what about the flat tops? I have -6cc flat tops in my 383, anyone run these in a boosted application? Im spraying a 150 shot right now with no issues but thats not really that much lol, the rings are gapped for a 200 shot.

I have the mahle flat tops in my twin turbo 383 and make close to 1k rwhp. It is at its limit though as I have destroyed a few of them in my old 408 at that power level. Also depends on if you are drag racing it and if going 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile.

Its a 4032 alloy piston. Not looking to set the world on fire, I pretty much would like to have the power my car has on the nitrous all the time. 600-650rwp through a stalled 4l60e nothing close to 1000hp lol. Its a street car but I only live a few miles from the local 1/8th mile track so im there often. 9sec93 is your 383 an aluminum or iron block?

Depends on how much boost you throw at it, what kind of gas you're running and what kind of tune it has.

I don't see why a relatively low compression ratio (~10:1) with a good tune and pump gas would not hold say 10-12psi of boost. That should be in the high 600s at the wheels.
