just bought my first LS car
Hi guys i just bought a 98 formula firebird and also a proud owner of a 81 turbo firebird. I'm only eighteen and like to know besides a better intake, cam, heads, headers, etc what is the best way to get fuel mileage up along with a like 400hp daily driver? I pretty well mechanically inclined i just don't have a garage to work in at the time.

Is your bird Auto or manual? Post up some pics. To get "better" MPGs basically all you can do is give it a good tune up and then get it tuned for gas saving. If you have a manual then you should get pretty good gas mileage already. I got 30MPGs in my Z28 on the interstate all day long with bolt ons cruising at 85MPH. In the city it will depend on a lot of variables.
Welcome and congrats on your buy.

hey i one more question for you guy in terms of weight reduction what type of carbon fiber/light weight replacements are available for these cars? I figure if i cut weight and get it to about 400hp it will be ready to fly.
