Default When installing new lifters ... do i need to prime them first ??

Getting ready to put the motor back together and i am installing some new lifters ... My question is when i drop them in what is next dont i have to prime them before torquing the rockers down to 24lb ? also which way do the holes go on the lifters facing the front end or dash ?

Soak them in oil 24 hrs before install, during which you pump them with a prod once in a while in order for them to fill up and prime.
And it is not just a matter of torquing to 24 lbs.. You have to find lifter preload then torque.
