Default advice on starting up issue

so this happens a lot, generally when the car is down for a few hours or a day. The car is an ls1 rx7 with a t56. Typically, when I go to start the car, it will click. Sometimes after holding it down for a few seconds it will turn over. Other times, I will have to pump the clutch and continue to turn the key over until i hear the motor turn over, all the while it just clicks until i hear the motor start. any advice gurus?

Don't know about the clicking before hand, but my wifes car wont star unless you let out on the clutch pedal a little. I am guessing this is due to safety switch alignment. If that is not it it could very well be a loose solenoid wire or broken solenoid.
