Default Need help sounds like a 2step at 3500rpm

Alright so I recently put a STS kit on my car it ran good for about a week and then now when I floor it in 1st or 2nd it sounds like the car has a 2step and bucks when it gets 3500rpm. All I know is that the turbo burned some uncalculated oil with the initial install. But when I drive normally and gradually put my foot down the turbo spools up nice and sound.

Any thoughts? Could it be a ridiculous misfire going on? Could the turbo be holding the engine back?

No wideband but nothing changed with the boost and is still making 5psi. Someone mentioned to me about speed density tuning by disconnecting the MAP sensor or the MAF and all I read is the SDT is better for FI cars

This happened to me a few months ago. We tried everything. It ended up being a bad turbo. Same thing. Ran fine got some excess oil and was done. I didn't think it was the turbo because I could still get 5psi but that was it and couldn't get the car to even run past 3500rpms. Finally, swapped the turbo's and 25lbs of boost and no issues since!

How will I know if the turbo is bad? There's no shaft play and spins free and 5psi is my max boost

I had nothing else to try and sent one in and was told it had metal in it and could be rebuilt. So I had them rebuild it. Tried to run the car again and still didn't work. So I took the other turbo off that had absolutely no play in the shaft and quess what? They said it was toast with metal. I was still pissed for paying to rebuild the other turbo so I went ahead and purchased two brand new On3 70mm's for $324 shipped. shoot just the rebuild for the precision was $500. Once I got the ON3's I mounted them up and car ran perfect and has since.

Well I tightened down all the clamps and replaced all the couplings and now the car runs fine. I haven't noticed any lack in power since the initial install but I still don't think a couple of loose couplings would cause the motor to sound like the timing was off. I will replace the turbo though just to be on the safe side.
