Help identifying metal needles
Hey guys, Couple of weeks ago I started to hear a loud knocking from the passenger side head, I also had a leak in the oil pan, I decided to replace the gasket of the oil pan and see whats was inside, Well today I found two metal needles like. I dont know if these are from the rockers of lifters. Also do you all guys think I did any damage to the inside of the engine? Or is not that big of a deal. I cant afford a engine failure/.
Any comments I would appreciated.

More specifically the bearing in the rocker arm is shot. They can be replaced with the Comp Cams trunion kit and would ensure that no more of those needle bearings drop down into the oiling system. I agree that if you should avoid running the system until you are able to get these replaced.

they may still be laying up inside the engine somewhere, they will eventually come down as the oil flows down. Once you get the offending rocker out you can count them and see how many are missing. I have never heard of them doing any real damage floating around inside the block, but ya never know.
