Question Truck harness in 96Z28

My 96Z28 is already a running LS1/4L60E swap. So i don't want to hear just use a F-Body harness. I already have one. My question is could I modify a factory LS/4L80E harness to work in my car rather than buy an adapter harness and run a different trans segment. Id have to use the truck pcm Im guessing. Any drawbacks to that? Im looking into a 6.0 4L80E drop out and want to try to use factory truck harness. Im going turbo so thats the reason for the swap. Thanks!

You could do that, but everything would obviously be routed differently. It would be easier for you to just add in the input speed sensor and repin your 4l60e connector. Then do the segment swap. If you need the wiring info on how to modify your existing harness for the 80e just let me know. Its super simple.

That will be much less work and money.

Switch S & U on the Trans Connector..add a two-pin VSS Connector for the ISS like mentioned..A to PCM RED 22, B to PCM RED 23.

Tune with Segment Swap..done.

I will probably go that route then. I personally just hate wiring. I was hoping it might be just easier to run the truck harness since it was made for it.

As stated above the repin of the 4L80E isnt too bad. Plus if you are going with a car or aftermarket intake, all the connector locations are going to be consistent with the F-Body not the truck. Stick with the Camaro harness.
