ASR - not "functional" until car starts?
Kind of a dumb question, but I'll explain why I am asking...
If the car is just "on" but not started, should the ASR button function? What I mean is, should the amber "on" light be illuminated on the switch, and when it's pushed should the "ASR Off" idiot light illuminate?
Reason I ask is the car is stored for winter and I don't want to start it just to check. I am doing an LED swap on the interior and have been messing with the switches and the cluster. I just swapped the bulbs in the switch out to LEDs, and the illumination LED lights up, but with the car just to "on", the ASR indicator LED (normally, the amber light) doesn't light up. I'd check for the "ASR Off" indicator on the dash, but I actually blocked that with tape as I wanted to rely solely on the indicator light and not have the idiot light screaming at me the whole time.
Thanks!
