Default Moving heater controls on 4th gen

Is there a thread on moving the heater controls on a Trans Am to the center console or elsewhere, as to accommodate a larger stereo unit?

Just how big were you thinking of going? You can fit a double DIN without relocating any standard controls. I don't know of any mainstream automotive head unit bigger than that.

It's a kenwood DNX6190HD. It's about 4.5" tall, and the frame case you slide it into wont fit into the dash without some modification

Please do a search for "double DIN". Lots of people (including me) have installed double DIN head units like the Kenwood DNX series. You need to modify your bezel (or buy one) and trim a little around the edge of the opening. No major modifications required.

I did http://6litereaterdesigns.com/store/...roducts_id=138
My problem is that I'm worried the stereo will be leaning in the heating controls when I cut out the plastic piece that supports the stereo

I moved mine to the glove box to install a Kenwood DDX7017. Had to extend the wires but the vacuum lines were just long enough. I just did it for a cleaner look.

I did this a few years back and never got around to finishing the fitment. It looks much better when viewed from above as usual.

Just zip tied down.
