Default Setup thoughts..

alright guys, last time I posted up, I was building a Turbo 408 97 T/A, but since then have sold the car, and the block, and bought an 04 Corvette, now I'm looking into putting a blower on it with a simple setup and would like some input from guys with a little more knowledge than me. So far here's what I'm thinking

Stock-ish LS1
A&A T-Trim, or Procharger P-1SC
small "stealth" type blower cam
317 heads with springs and retainers...

the 317's are my main question, since I already have a set of un-molested 317's sitting at my disposal be best to use those for the lower compression or just use the heads already on the motor?

I would go for the D1 head unit over the P1 and the 317's with a good dual spring.

So the 04's have the 243 heads? Either way I would leave the stock heads on it.

Good advice, I got Brian tooley dual springs with my tick cam, I've heard only good things about them.

Maybe look into the tick stage 1 blower cam or I see a lot of people like the ls9 cam for a more mild setup

thanks for the input, the 317's were my biggest question, since I've seen a lot of mixed opinions of putting them stock cube LS1's.. just figured it might be better to run the 317s since they seem to drop the compression....not looking to make the big power street car, just keep it close to the 600hp mark until I can forge the bottom end.

The 317's will put you in the 9.4 - 9.5 : 1 compression ratio. Throw some ls9 gaskets on there as well.

alright, I've made up my mind, I'm just going to go with the Hinson single setup with a 76mm, on a stock cube 5.7 LS1, with some 317's, and blower cam.. keep it semi low boost until I get around to getting Forged rods and some new pistons... should be interesting when I get around to it in a few months
