Can I tranfer a tune from my 98 speed density to a 99 with a Maf
I currently have a single turbo 98 running a speed density tune. No o2s or Maf
I want to put that same motor and cam in my 99 TA with a Twin kit.
Can I tranfer that tune over to the 99 for a starting point to get the car running
The 99 has a Maf and O2s. As I understand the 98s have a slightly different system.
Will the 99 run with the o2 and maf hooked up. I'm thinking the computer is told to not see the maf or o2s.
Sorry if I sound like I dont know what I'm talking about. I dont

You can't flash the 98 tune to a 99 computer directly because it would kill the PCM. However, you can copy fuel and spark parameters from the 98 file to the 99 file and save it, then flash the 99 file to the PCM and start tuning. It will give you a very close tune.

Would I have to get a second license to do this or buy extra credits.
I'm going to buy hptuners this week. I've got alot to learn.
Can anyone explain the credits. I also have a 9-7x with a 5.3. Can I make changes to it too. Or how can I use it for all 3 vehicles

Usually, you need 2 credits to unlock a VIN number with HP Tuners. I think some vehicles are still 4 credits. All the LSX based stuff is pretty much 2 credits per VIN though.
