Flexplate question and gearing T56 to 4L80E.
I have the shifter, shifter cable, trans, trans cooler, cooler lines. I don't know which flexplate I need to use though. Will the one for the 4L60E work? I have the original flexplate off the engine that I got the tranny from. It was a '95 3500 with a 350 TBI.
Keep in mind this is a budget swap.
Tranny was $300 with 66,000 miles on it
Trans cooler - Free
Cooler lines - Free
Shifter and cable - $40
Still need pedals and console top. If you know anyone doing an A4 - T56 swap
Also, is there a major difference in the gearing between the 60E and 80E?

Would this work? Says it comes with a spacer.

Still wondering about gearing. I have 3.42's now and I'm running the 26" tire to help with gearing. But this is all on a M6.

Just get a 6.0L flat flex plate. It will have the correct spacer pressed on it. You will need th e correct longer bolts for it. it will bolt right up.
The 80e has a poorer first gear vs the 60e. So you may want to get a lower rear ratio.
