Default Blow Thru Setup intercooler required?

I was running a rear mount blow thru setup on my 99 SS. I've moved the turbo back up front and have a question about intercoolers. I'm running the car on C16 with an C&S carb so is an intercooler really required? I would really like your input on this. I've read that its not required but I thought I would ask you guys.

Thanks for the help.

Chris

yes and no carb intake temps are lower than efi but intercoolers always help keep things more consistant. i ran one on my setup.

I would reccomend an AWIC with a 2500hp core.

Seriously though, I would run it with no intercooler and get a base line. If it pings it's guts even with a few lbs of boost, you've got a problem. I doubt a cheap chinese air/air intercooler would stave off detonation very long.
