i have a 98 ta built ls1 cam/heads car with a t56,i just smoked another ls7 clutch and i want to swap to auto. local guy has a gto with a built th350 with transbrake and neal chance 3500 stall convt. still in car running 10.90 ita low mile gto he wants to put back to stock to sell it. his trans has 3k miles probably 15 passes.my trans/shifter plus 500 cash for his setup oh yea it has the ultra bell housing for the ls? my concirn is a guy at trans specialties said dont go with th350. i think he thought i was making more power then i am,another concirn is i dont see anyone here running them? someone please help cause this seems like a killer deal!

i dont know i can ask him tomorrow when he takes me or a ride. it has a brake,ls housing,3500 stall,and its behind his 590 hp lsx 454 sounds like its built pretty good to me,i dont know to many people putting a brake on a weak trans,im sure it does happen tho!

A th350 done right can handle a good amount of power. I'm in the same boat as u. Ill be doing a th350 in my t/a. My builder builts alot of th350 for alot of local guys and never has problems with them. He runs a th350 in his 900+nova with a 300 shot out the hole.
Don't worry about breaking it if it's done right!
