Default Vortech Blower servicing

How often should Vortech head units need overhauling l own v7 YSI or wait till it screws up.

Unless you have reason to believe there is a problem...leave it alone.

If the bearings start to go, you'd usually hear them. Or feel some play via the input shaft/pulley.

And generally speaking, it's a Vortech only deal ( or CAPA in Oz ), as Vortech wont sell any parts.

Although if it's just replacing bearings and seals, it isnt that difficult if you have some common sense, a few tools and a hydraulic press.
Sourcing the correct bearings for the high speed shaft is tricky though. There are plenty that will fit, but very few with a listed speed rating high enough.
Although TBH, I think Vortech just overspin the bearings.

Low speed side is easy to get bearings

I sent mine to 928 Motorsports. Good work, fair prices and good turn around. I have put 10,000 miles on it and no problems. They upgraded the turbine to a stage 3 billet and high speed bearings and better seals.

Thanks for feedback might get upgrade if in OZ they supply better seals etc.If not leave it alone.
